About Us

I Believe Every Person Deserves to Be Heard

Healthcare is one of the most personal parts of our lives. Yet today, many people leave medical appointments feeling rushed, confused, or unsure of what comes next.

I’ve spent years observing how difficult it has become for person and families to navigate an increasingly complex healthcare system. While healthcare professionals work incredibly hard, they are often operating within systems constrained by time, administrative responsibilities, insurance requirements, and corporate pressures.

The result is that many people—particularly 55+ adults—feel they must simply accept whatever happens rather than actively participate in their own care.

I believe it doesn’t have to be that way.

Why I Created Bedside Manners Matter

Bedside Manners Matter was founded with one simple mission:

To help people get the healthcare they and their loved ones need and deserve.

Too often, people don’t know what questions to ask, who is making decisions about their care, or how to advocate for themselves when something doesn’t feel right.

My goal is not to replace physicians or provide medical advice.

My goal is to help you become a more informed, confident, and engaged participant in your healthcare journey.

When people understand the system and communicate effectively, they are better equipped to make decisions that align with their personal goals and quality of life.

Redefining What It Means to Be 55 plus

I proudly use the word 55 plus.

In many cultures, 55+ adults are respected for their wisdom, resilience, life experience, and contributions to their communities. They are valued as teachers and leaders.
Yet our society often places tremendous value on youth while overlooking the strengths that come with age.
As 55+, we have adapted to change, overcome challenges, experienced loss, built families, careers, and communities, and accumulated a lifetime of knowledge.

Those experiences matter.

When it comes to healthcare, they should be recognized and respected.

I hope to encourage every 55+ adult to stand confidently, ask questions, share concerns, and actively participate in decisions about their own care.
Being an 55 plus is not something to fear.
It is something to embrace.

Understanding Today's Healthcare System

Healthcare today is vastly different from what many people remember.

  • Appointments are shorter.
  • Insurance requirements are more complex.
  • Technology changes rapidly.
  • Multiple providers may be involved in a single episode of care.
  • People are often expected to make significant decisions with limited information and very little time.

Meanwhile, healthcare providers themselves face enormous pressures—from documentation requirements to administrative burdens and insurance limitations—that can impact the person’s experience.

Understanding these realities helps us become better partners in our own care.

My Philosophy

I believe that:

Every person deserves dignity and respect.

People deserves to understand their healthcare options.

Questions should always be welcomed.

Good communication improves care.

Families should feel empowered, not intimidated.

Healthcare decisions should reflect the individual's values, goals, and quality of life.

Advocacy is not confrontation—it is participation.
